KWS FieldExplorer is the digital solution for field planning, management and documentation of field activities. Supported by mobile apps and hardware, data is collected, analyzed and visualized to digitize breeding and seed production activities. With the FieldExplorer mobile apps, users are able to record and manage field activities in real time.

Weather Sensors
The breeding stations use weather stations with special sensors for wind, temperature and humidity, for example. These sensors are installed and maintained by the stations themselves and the measurement results are displayed in the application.
For each activity and sensor type, the app provides detailed instructions that contain information about the required equipment and spatial requirements and guide the user step by step through the procedures.
Management
The FEX Mobile app allows users to manage everything related to their daily work. This includes breeding stations, fields and their associated data for management and breeding purposes, as well as inspections, machinery and tasks.
We created a task manager that dynamically interacts with other content within the application. Tasks can be assigned to specific fields and users. In addition, the status of inspections can be linked to tasks to monitor progress.
Observation
The application allows users to comprehensively document activities, environmental influences and plant growth of each field. A variety of inspection types are available.
In order to meet the specific needs of individual breeding stations in different countries, we worked closely to develop an app that enables efficient and intuitive handling of the processes. The high technical specifications were a major challenge and required extensive communication with the users to ensure that the app met their needs and workflows.
